What Does East Dorset Mean to You?

Posted on 22 May 2017

What is important about the area of East Dorset as a community and place to live? A research student, Emma Ayling, would like to hear from local residents and to explore how residents in East Dorset view their locality.

Through the Mapping Community project participants will be interviewed by Emma regarding what is important to them about their locality and how, as residents of East Dorset, they connect with their surroundings. During the interview there would be an opportunity to produce a visual expression of the discussion – this is optional.

Emma is from the Institute of Archaeology, University College London, and research is conducted in conjunction with the museum. The interviews form part of Emma's research into 'community museum'. She wants to understand how community is made up and how community museums – in this case the Priest's House Museum & Garden, the Museum of East Dorset - form relations with people.

For further information and to book a place please contact Emma Ayling at the museum on 01202 882533 or e-mail eayling@priest-house.co.uk.
