Sword Age, Axe Age – Viking Sagas

The museum and Wimborne Library host a storytelling performance by Rattlebox Theatre of tales from Viking times on Thursday 10 August. Performance times are 11am at the museum and 2pm at the library. The event is part of Sting in the Tale - A Festival of Stories (

Dave Oliver presents an exciting collection of tales from Viking times. Hear of the outrageous adventures of the Norse gods and their war with the giants. Thrill to sagas full of danger, trickery and beheading!

Virtuoso musician Paul Whittal adds extra magic with his various musical instruments to Dave Oliver's lively and often amusing storytelling.

The performances are free. Places are limited so please come early as it will be first come, first served. The performance is suitable for adults and children aged 7+ (children must be accompanied).

The museum performance is in the garden, so please bring rugs, cushions or small chairs to sit on.

This event is presented by Wimborne History Festival and supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
