Posted on 29 Aug 2013
The museum is taking part in Dorset Architectural Heritage Week on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September, 10 to 4.30, with free admission to the house and garden on both days. There will also be a unique opportunity to have a free guided tour of the new museum stores.

The guided tour will include an introduction to the museum's collections, which encompass stunning Roman wall paintings and a unique Victorian Valentine card collection. Our collections, numbering 35,000 objects, are rich in archaeology and costume, and childhood and local history material, telling the story of East Dorset. Other parts of the collections relate to the building’s past domestic and retail uses. Tours are at 10.30, 12 and 2.30 on both days. Booking is essential through East Dorset Heritage Trust on 01202 888992.

Discover our stunning Roman wall paintings, the fascinating childhood gallery and a unique Victorian Valentine card collection as the museum tells the story of East Dorset.
