Visiting the Museum - Accessibility

We welcome all people to the museum and our aim is to make your experience here a positive one. If you have any special requirements please let us know.

Admission prices

A necessary escort or carer of a visitor with a disability is admitted free of charge.

Wheelchairs

The ground floor and garden is fully accessible. A film can be viewed of the four exhibition galleries upstairs, along with an information folder of images and copies of the interpretation panels.

Assistance dogs

Assistance dogs are very welcome in the museum and garden.

Large print leaflet, hearing loop and audio tour

A large print museum leaflet is available on request and the museum shop is fitted with a hearing loop. An audio description of displays and room settings is available in most of the rooms and galleries.

Seating

There are seats available in most of the rooms and galleries.

Buggies and pushchairs

Visitors with buggies and pushchairs are welcome, with ramped access throughout the ground floor and garden.

Tearoom

High chairs are available on request.

Toilets

Toilet facilities are fully accessible for wheelchair users. Baby change facilities are also available.
